Michael W. Traugott is an American political scientist, communication studies researcher, and political pundit.〔 〕 As of 2008, he is a professor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a researcher at UM's Institute for Social Research. Traugott finished his undergraduate education at Princeton University and completed a Master's degree and PhD at the University of Michigan. He has authored, co-authored, or edited at least nine books and 40 journal articles and book chapters.〔 〕 His research focuses on voting technology (sponsored by a National Science Foundation grant),〔 〕 elections, political campaigns, opinion polling, and the political role of the mass media in the United States.
